The holidays take a toll for many.

If you have irritable bowel disease or irritable bowel syndrome, the holidays will really take a toll.

Some of you are sitting there reading this right now thinking, “The holidays have barely begun, but yet I’m already in misery.”

The first time it ever registered with me that perhaps my stomach issues, bloat, joint pain, fatigue and mouth problems were caused by food and lifestyle was in January of 2006.

From January 1 – January 21, I did the first “detox” I had ever done in my life.

On days 1- 18, I was on autopilot.

On day 19, I felt worse than ever before.

On day 21, every single “problem” I ever had was gone.

On day 22, post detox, I went back to my “old life.”

On day 23, I was back to misery.

Upon making this correlation, my life was never the same.

My hope is to provide you with this same proof and hope.

The gut is a fragile place. An unhealthy gut leads to many things. Leading this pack, come January, is the self awareness that we have gained weight or have been living in gut hell. < If you have IBD or IBS, you know exactly what I mean.

Women everywhere will “punish” themselves with yet another crazy diet instead of addressing the real problem at hand.

I believe this happens with 3 pillars (an integrated approach):

  1. Food (the right food for your body)
  2. Movement (it’s not – necessarily – about intense workouts each day, but rather that we are moving in some way, shape or form)
  3. Stress Reduction (IBS and IBD are made far worse with stress)
